Warren Ellis

I was looking for a villain for an issue of SECRET AVENGERS for Marvel Comics when I found Arnim Zola, who’s basically this guy with no head and his torso is just a massive face.  The temptation to suspend a glowing halo over his headstump and call him ARNIM ZOLA JESUS is crushing.

Well, and considering that he made himself that way with his biotech and robotics, the guy is all kinds of posthuman and transhuman, although created before those terms were coined. So, given he's been doing this stuff for decades, for the guy to actually rebrand himself as some sort of Posthuman Messiah would actually make a weird sort of sense.

Yeah, and from what I remember, Zola was Hitler's favorite geneticist and probably the only person in all of Marvel who could be a rival for Mr. Sinister.

So given the Nazi goals of creating the Master Race, Zola as some sort of Transhuman Jesus does make a twisted sort of sense.

Sometimes I want to hug Warren and give him a large alcoholic drink.

I almost forgot. This is basically the Red Skull now. The Skull needed a new body so Zola made him a robot one with a skull chest. the villain then put on a real head and then a red rubber Skull mask.
