Also, happy 21st birthday to my cowgirl, @laurennmcc #
@laurennmcc that’s because you look and work better at 40 than most people do at 21. July 4 is always Laurenn McCubbin Day to me. #
@laurennmcc : also, I promise to stop telling people that you’re @mckelvie ’s mother, Soon. #
July 4 - I now have 5111 silent stalkers — I mean “followers” — on Twitter. Soon I will issue the Secret Command Signal. Be patient. #
@kellysue - in 1997, the only person I saw dress up for the Eisner Awards was George Perez, resplendent in tuxedo and vivid cummerbund. #
Dear old George did, of course, stand out like a Maharajah at a convention for people who drink paint stripper recreationally. #

No no, you have it wrong. July 4 is the day the US honors revolutionaries. We remember their acts of sedition and treason done in the name of not wanting to be ruled by some over-seas authority who had no real interest in our well being. Nor did we care for arbitrary rules and whatnot being enforced by people who didn't follow those rules themselves. All they wanted was to be left alone and live according to their on ways.
Speaking of Independence Day, a friend of mine found this video on the interwebs and when I saw it I thought you might find it amusing. I don't intend to offend.
Our Independence Day tradition is to kidnap a random British monarchist and beat the snot out of them to commemorate the snot beating the French gave the British on our behalf during the Revolution. Then we sit about and mock your silly accents and make fun of you for being too weak of resolve and intellect to slaughter your pathetic Aristocracy.
See, now I'm envisioning a kick-line of people doing a musical reenactment of Washington's Crossing of the Delaware. (AKA "The last time anyone voluntarily went to Trenton, New Jersey."
