I actually thought this was a joke when I saw Kristen Merveilleuse link to it. But no. This is actually Shane MacGowan, Nick Cave, Johnny Depp, Chrissie Hynde, Glen Matlock and a shitload of others covering "I Put A Spell On You" as a benefit record to aid Haiti reconstruction. Pre-order it here.

I reckon you should appear on a Nick Cave album playing violin just to confuse and annoy people.
...or his doing so would open an infernal portal where the FreakAngels are real.
Either way, I have no problem with this. Thanks for the video, boss.
I'm scared. Yet strangely happy by this. Plus, Chrissie Hynde is still bloody awesome.
Wasn't she just?
Just nailed it.
Wow. Amazing. But Shane MacGowan is and remains one of the most terrifying people on this planet.
I bloody love you Warren Ellis (for sharing this with us proles).
Seriously. I'm teaching myself blues guitar, and this song just popped back up on my radar and straight to the top of my "must learn!" list.
I can't tell if Jay Hawkins would be amused or horrified.
I like the intention but the singers were clearly far too sober.
He'd be absolutely A-1 all for it as long as he got paid ;-)
hahaha not as bad as i thought, but that guitar solo was bad, i think JD needs to stick to acting at least he looks good in the video tho. ;p
Hear hear; I found it unfortunate that Paloma Faith was the only one who appeared to really give a fuck.
much better then we are the fucking world bullcrap. | |
