I'm breaking radio silence one more time, because I think those of you who were reading me on LJ for a long time will be interested in this.
I just sold my second novel to HarperCollins in New York. It’s called LISTENER. And those of you who were reading my first LJ, back in 2003ish, saw LISTENER in its first iteration as an experimental handful of early chapters. I stopped writing the novel on LJ because I began to fear for my literary agent's blood vessels. And then my film/tv agent started. So I folded, for the sake of peace. Reminded her last week about all this. And by midnight GMT on Friday, she'd sold it. Just like she said she would.
No hard release date yet, but I imagine it'll be out in the summer of 2008, as I'll complete the novel in the summer of 07, around the same time as the first one, CROOKED LITTLE VEIN is released (hardback, William Morrow).
I miss you all. Have a good holiday season, stab anyone you see dressed as Santa Claus (and tell the police you thought he was Jesus), build a little shrine to me, kiss a stranger and make them obsess about what they're missing, and have the best New Year possible.
